Description

Book by Thelma Workman

Foreward: “‘The Best in Kansas'” first appeared as a series of newspaper articles about the Brown Grand Theater, published mainly during the years 1973-75. These stories, which relate the history of the theater and its restoration, were begun as one way to arouse interest in the project, which began in earnest in May, 1973. The final published chapter was about Jack Roney’s finding the tracings in 1975. In order to bring the story of the project up to date, several chapters have been written just prior to publication of this book. These are marked ‘Unpublished Chapters’ to distinguish them from those printed earlier in the Concordia Blade-Empire and the Kansan.”
